LOVE AT FIRST TYPE

For Valentine’s Day, my bookkeeper bought me a Brother P-Touch™, Home and Hobby electronic labeler with peal and stick ‘M-Tape’ labels you put on file folders to stay organized. And you know what, gentle reader? I am in love.

Minutes after tearing it free from its see-through plastic casing, I massaged headings into its keyboard. They passed letter by letter across an LCD display before splaying themselves onto fresh glossy ribbon for my eyes only: ‘WANT TO,’ ‘HAVE TO,’ ‘SHOULD’ and even ‘SHOULD BUT PROBABLY WON’T’.

I stuck these onto folders heretofore mucked up with messy handwriting. With that done, I sat back and enjoyed how neat and organized life had suddenly become.

The Brother P-Touch™, Home and Hobby electronic labeler completes me. No longer do I have to keep track of all things ‘pending’ inside my head. My filing system keeps track of these things so I don’t have to.

Seven days are past since Valentine’s rosy embrace and we are celebrating our one week anniversary, my Brother P-Touch™ Home & Hobby and I.

You might wonder if it is normal to fall in love with a labeler. Or perhaps you think it is just a phase. Maybe it is. All I know is that I am changed forever. This afternoon, I am going out to buy commitment rings. And when I come home I am going to label them ‘FOREVER’.

Perhaps I should not gloat so much. After all, you might not have received a Brother P-Touch™ Home & Hobby for Valentine’s Day. And, I can’t really know if you would even be right for each other. But I do know this: some times it is good to have a system so that we do not have to hold everything inside our heads. When we do, we can relax a little more and enjoy the sweeter things in life.
